Glossary

Lithium-ion

Lithium-ion is a lithium technology, with a nominal voltage of 3.6V. It has a higher density and energy capacity than other technologies such as lead or nickel. However, li-ion should always be used with an electronic protection circuit due to its element instability.

Alternating current

Electric current that has a variable direction and amplitude.

Accumulator

A device that stores energy and can be recharged several times.

Alkaline

An alkaline battery is a type of electric battery for domestic use with a nominal voltage of 1.5V. Alkaline batteries have the same dimensions as a conventional salt water battery. They are available with several capacities and enable a better energy density, have a longer lifespan and are disposable.

AGM

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries have fiberglass meshing between the battery plates, which serves to contain the electrolyte.
