Sealed lead acid: AGM
This range of batteries is above all dedicated to applications in which the battery is only used in the event of a power outage. Designed for constant charging, this battery takes over in the event of a power cut and powers the system for a limited amount of time. To meet the demands of this type of use, part of the range is designed with flame retardant plastic cases. The range known as “FR” (Flame retardant) allows the battery to fulfil its role even when the power cuts are linked to an outbreak of fire. The AGM technology is generally used for applications such as UPS’, electronic devices, alarm systems, emergency lighting, signalling, toys and solar energy systems.
This battery is watertight. In this type of battery, the electrolyte is absorbed and suspended between each plate by cellulose (a type of blotting paper). The nominal voltage is 2V and its working temperature ranges between -20°C and 60°C. Its rate of self-discharge is 3% per month at 20°C and its life expectancy can vary between 3 and 5 years for standard ranges.
